I was warm most of the time with just the coat during the day, at night when I turned the heating unit on, I was always super warm, in temperatures below 35 degrees. This coat also fits well not adding a lot of bulk. The pockets are very secure with zippers, the inside pockets are very roomy, no need to carry a belt bag or crossover bag , the battery has its own pocket .
